We are excited to announce a fantastic educational opportunity for vascular trainees! The Journal of Vascular Surgery is initiating an internship program geared at both senior integrated vascular residents and vascular fellows. The program is designed for those who have an interest in learning the JVS Journals review and editorial process.
Dr. Sachdev-Ost is currently the site chief of vascular surgery at Magee Women’s Hospital, the associate program director of the vascular surgery residency and fellowship at UPMC and was recently appointed as an associate editor for clinical research focused on diversity, equity and inclusion at JVS.
We host a panel of vascular surgeons representing the Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS) Policy and Advocacy Council, Government Relations Committee (GRC), and the Political Action Committee. (PAC). They discuss how they became involved and specifically their work regarding the United States Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Payment Reforms that will go into effect in January 2021.
With the interview season underway amidst a pandemic, we sought out advice for students applying to the integrated vascular surgery residency from three experts: Dr. Chelsea Dorsey, Dr. Murray Shames, and Dr. Arash Fereydooni.
